Newborn Photography

Those first few weeks go faster than anyone warns you about. My newborn sessions are calm and unhurried ~ there's no rushing, no rigid schedule, just space for you to soak it in while I capture what's actually happening around you. The tiny details, the way your baby curls up and the looks between you as new parents. Whether at home or at a studio in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire - I’ll gently guide you while keeping things relaxed and natural, so your images reflect the love and warmth of this new chapter.

I often get asked 'When is the best time to book a newborn shoot?' and really the answer isn't always so simple. Within the first couple of weeks has traditionally been the most common and recommended time frame to capture when your baby is still curled and sleepy and everything feels brand new.

But your baby is also still a newborn until 12 weeks and by this point they have developed a personality of their own, they're awake more so hold eye contact and can even show expressions. Having a later newborn session means that your baby would have settled into their new environment and you would have settled more to your new life. This allows for a more relaxed photography session where we don't have to rush as much and you may feel more calmer overall.
