Pregnancy moves quickly. One minute you're staring at a positive test, the next you're holding your baby and wondering where the bump went?! A maternity session is a chance to slow down and properly document this chapter before it's gone.

I photograph maternity sessions so they feel relaxed and natural, with no pressure to look a certain way or perform for the camera. Whether you want something intimate at home, out in the Derbyshire countryside or in a cosy studio, we'll find an approach that suits you.

Partners and siblings are always welcome and pets are more than welcome too. Some of my favourite maternity images aren't of the bump at all, they're of the people and pets gathered around it.

The best time to book is after your 12 or 20 week scan, with the session itself usually taking place between 26 and 34 weeks, when the bump is nicely rounded but you're still comfortable moving around. I'd recommend getting in touch early to secure your date, since this window goes faster than you'd think.

What to expect

Sessions take place at home or at a location of your choice across Derbyshire. They run between 1 and 2 hours depending on your package, at a relaxed pace with room to pause whenever you need. Your edited images are delivered through an online gallery, ready for you to view, download and print.
