What sets Maz apart is her incredible patience and calming nature. One of my children usually struggles with socializing and new environments but Maz has a magic way of gaining their trust instantly. Her relaxed approach makes the whole session feel effortless rather than a chore, especially at our most recent shoot at 37 weeks pregnant with a toddler who started the day feeling very grumpy.


As a mum who is usually the one behind the camera, I rarely like photos of myself but Maz captures me in a way that makes me actually love the results. She has a talent for catching everyone’s genuine smile and creating images we will treasure for a lifetime. Do you travel for photoshoots?

Yes, I am based in Derby but do travel all around the UK to photograph families, newborns and weddings. If you are not nearby but love the style of my natural and relaxed photography then get in touch!

Travel within 25 miles of Derby is included. Additional mileage is charged at cost (quoted individually).

What makes your photography style different?

My sessions are calm, connection led and natural. I don’t heavily pose or wrap babies into complicated positions.

Most images are captured in arms, cuddled in close just as you are because that’s what you’ll want to remember.

I gently direct for those more 'posed' looking photos, my aim is to make you feel as comfortable during our session and ultimately encourage you to have some fun with your people because that's when the best photos are captured.

Where do sessions take place?

I always encourage newborn sessions to take place in your home (where everyone feels most comfortable and your baby will have everything they might need).

Family sessions can be at home or outdoors around Derby and Derbyshire ~ I love light filled, neutral spaces and open countryside.

My home studio in Shelton Lock is also available for sessions.

How do we book a family or newborn photographer in Derby?
